KEVIN ROGERS: June 29

The waking up early part of EMF is starting to catch up to me, sort of. I lost some concentration today in rehearsal, but I was able to get myself back on track for the last couple of hours. Everyday the orchestra sounds better and better.
Chamber groups met today for the first time. There is some major excitement coming up with the Brahms piano quintet. The pianist is amazing, she has to be to play that piece. I was really impressed as well with the other string members as well. The sight reading was a bit rough, but Brahms is definitely a hard piece to sight read. I definitely in nervous anticipation [good of course] for the upcoming weeks to play this piece.
I did laundry for the first, that was fun.
I have a lot of work that I need to do. I have a lot of discipline things that I should do with my own playing. My mind has some things on it that are kind of hindering that. Sometimes the emotional part of you can affect things you wouldn't expect. Violin is truly a full body experience.
