JENNIFER STEINFELD: Third Day at EMF

third day at EMF

seating placement went up today! I'm sitting 3rd out of 6 stands and I'm seat 3a which means I'm on the outside so I'm kinda like "Viola #5" which I'm happy about. we had our first rehearsal today and sight-read The Rite of Spring by Stravinsky, Prelude and Liebstod from Tristan + Isolde by Wagner, Intermezzo from Act III from Manon Lescaut by Puccini and lastly (my favorite composers name) Prelude from Hansel and Gretel by....dun dun dun...Humperdink. lol, every time I hear that name I think of the movie the Princess Bride and Prince Humperdink.

so, after waking up on the late side today, Emmy and I watched Chocolat. we were taking advantage of probably the last time we will have free time in the morning.

I really don't have too much to write about right now. I'm kinda burnt out from the day.

oh right, we did a sight reading thingy tonight. it wasn't that bad. it was actually kinda fun. my orchestra played a really nice section of a super long piece by Mahler. it was nice. apparently people can come watch us sight-read for $5...I don't really know who would want to do that, I mean, seeing the behind the scenes work of an orchestra is cool, but $5? you could like....buy take out Chinese with that. or a used CD, or two ice cream cones, or 5 items from the $ menu at McDonalds. although I personally wouldn't like to go to McDonalds....its kinda gross.....

well, anyway, I'm tired, Emmy is reading Jane Austen, and I wouldn't mind settling down with a few crazy easy crosswords....maybe I can get another 6 done before Emmy wants lights out...
